Families will be divided ... woah horsey Strong words Mathew 10:36 but to me this piece of scripture is very relevant today but it's not about "knowing" the teachings of the word of God it's about "doing" the teachings found in the word of God which is a truth a lot of non church people even atheist think they probably get, that some church goers don't. This is for everyone and definitely includes me. Stress, Sin, Hurt Feelings, Rejection etc can put these teachings into reality very quickly for better and for worse....and the media is making the Word awkward and even obsolete in a sneaky way. Hear me out
Let's use a random topic to show the fault in the thinking .... a lot of headlines are about peoples rights these days ... If you say you like the Ann Murray Song "Out on the Mira" you're offending gay people because the lyrics say "boys in the boats call to girls on the shore teasing the ones they dearly adore" laugh but it's no different than taking prayer out of school? because of one so called educated mom who never experienced the power of prayer (Who by the way gets painted a hero by the media?)
I see Manny Pacquiao the boxer was dropped by Nike for saying a man should only have sex with his wife(true) and to not sleep around like animals that goes for everyone. He has apologized his intent wasn't to hurt peoples feelings. Now every decent old lady should apologize too for saying the same thing.
Now we can weigh in on this ridiculous debate the media loves because it takes us away from the real issues! "Gods word" The media likes to twist things around and take out of context the things people say especially by putting forward the voice of a small percentage of (gay) actors, to the masses ...The way they write it or speak it, you'd think, you'd have to agree with basically everything and anything they say or else? The worst part is young people are tuned into these twisted misleading arguments. If you say you follow the word of God and believe a man should only have sex with his wife you're painted homophobic it's ridiculous. Its what Gods word says pretty clearly.
It's misleading and a lie when the media talks about church. Its like watching a documentary of Ford and GM and after you think you know a lot about cars but can't change a tire. It's funny Oprah, Larry King or Barbra Walters for instance never point fingers at the Hebrew teachings Steven Spielberg follows about God and family ? No seriously ? If they interview him it's not a set up, or a series of trap questions.
... But if a person is easily swayed by her guru guests "than they don't know the knowledge because if one did they could never turn away...which begs the question does she do it on purpose to screen out bad people or is she just a pawn for someone?
But again that's not the point ... We're trying to rise above the nonsense ... "knowing"and "doing" the word/truth is the real issue we shouldn't focus on the subject matter it could be about anything. Example; A person can say yes Manny Pacquiao is right or wrong but get in a fight with spouse and turn to gambling drugs alcohol porn etc the basic problem is a person can "know"what Manny Pacquiao is saying but to actually "do"it is another story and say "yes this applies to me" .... not point our fingers at others debating about "knowing"the word, this is the true Hebrew teaching Pacquiao is following and the only truth. "Knowing"it and "doing" it are two different things. So if a household is to be divided it's shouldn't be over not "knowing" the word of God but rather about not "doing"it...
But households are divided about issues like gay rights for example (knowing) not the actual (doing) ... Which is stupid and the argument is misleading and sucking people in... The Hebrew teachings are a way of life God, Love, Family etc Selfish verses unselfish ... Good verses Evil ... Forgiveness and spirit ... But if the church you go to is keeping you in diapers Catholic or Protestant than loosing an argument about obvious nonsense is no surprise; example loosing an argument to a 12 yr old who has been locked in his basement for the past year on the Internet getting educated on who Christ is. By the way that's the (anarchist teaching them)@(i don't know if I'm a boy or girl).com We should have a voice and stick up for life as Christ wanted us to and live.
One glaring problem is telling everyone they can do what ever they want and calling it freedom or being true to yourself .... Why not call it what it really is ? Like the new Nike add be true to yourself what does that mean its rediculous.
As a church person myself If I'm on my knees the spirit will reveal the "doing" the word and I will have life ... And a big BUT when I'm not I'm probably Pointing fingers at others or playing this "knowing" the word rather than "doing" the word game. Getting sucked in and further from the truth of misleading arguments and trap questions ... The truth in the word itself will actually reveal and shows the problems I will have ... If I care to read it
The family is actually a product of the word of God so not "doing" it by our own omission basically cancels out any of our opinions anyway about Mathew 10-36 doesn't matter if you "know it"
God's love moves us to "do"

Side note: there was a little church in Fairview that did a nice job of revelation. If you go go with an open heart and just listen it was called Victory (fitting name) its not fancy if you need that.
And again writing this post makes me be a better doer or a hypocrite ...
And yes I will still fall but thankfully Christ died for my sins.
